Last week, we wrapped up our final summer Urban Outdoors field trip at Twin Points Park, and what a way to end the season!

We had an amazing time celebrating these incredible kids, who were handpicked by their coaches for showing great attitudes and being positive participants throughout our summer Urban Outdoors trips. They enjoyed a delicious feast, had fun in the water, played volleyball, and even had a piñata.

This day was a special opportunity to recognize these kids for the great attitudes, behavior, and enthusiasm they showed throughout the summer. We are so proud of each of them and hope their experiences this summer helped them discover a greater appreciation for the outdoors while exploring some incredible places and activities close to home.

A huge thank you to all of the parents for trusting us to introduce your kids to new experiences and adventures this summer. It has truly been an unforgettable season.

We also want to thank the many volunteer coaches who pour so much into this program. Their passion for the outdoors, their dedication to the youth, and their commitment to Urban Outdoors are what make this program so special. We could not do it without them.

Urban Outdoors is not over just yet. We still have archery every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00 to 6:15 p.m., and before we know it, our Fall Youth Wildlife Management Hunt will be here.

We cannot wait to see what adventures are next!

Last week, we had another great Summer Field Trip with a visit to Lake Tawakoni State Park - Texas Parks and Wildlife!

Our group enjoyed a fun-filled day of kayaking, fishing, swimming, and making lasting memories while exploring the outdoors. It was another great opportunity to experience everything our Texas state parks have to offer.

A special thank you to Park Ranger Harris for the incredible skins, skulls, and bugs presentation for our kiddos! We also appreciate all of the park rangers and staff who stopped by to visit, share their knowledge, and help make the day such a memorable experience.

Last week, we wrapped up our annual RISE MENtoring Camp, and what an incredible week it was!

These young men showed up each day ready to learn, work hard, and step outside their comfort zones. Throughout the week, they built a foundation of valuable life skills, including communication, self-aid/buddy-aid, tying a tie, grilling, basic automotive maintenance, supporting peers, financial basics, and independence.

They also had the opportunity to take three amazing field trips to Driver Pipeline, the City Yard and Lindamood, Inc. where they got a firsthand look at different career paths and the hard work that goes into them.

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to invest in these boys by sharing your knowledge, skills, and expertise. Your willingness to mentor and encourage the next generation is what makes this camp so impactful.

We're proud of each of these young men and can't wait to see how they continue to grow.

Huge shoutout to three of our wrestlers who competed at Mat Bash today! 🤼‍♂️🔥
🏅Brendan went a perfect 6–0, —ALL by pin—and was a absolute standout among his entire team!
💪 Sebastian had the incredible honor of being coached by the man who trained our entire coaching staff! Facing some stiff competition, he finished 4–2, helping his team secure 9th place overall.
🥉 Chris and his team took 3rd place overall after a absolute nail-biter dual against one of the top teams in the state! Mat Bash is an extremely high-caliber tournament, and taking home 3rd is a phenomenal accomplishment.
We are so proud of the progress, heart, and dedication these kids showed today. We can’t wait to see them bring those lessons back to the room! 📈
Side Note: Coach Eckley was the high school coach for all four IPALs coaches! It’s a true honor to witness generational wrestling in action and have a Texas wrestling legend in our athletes' corner.
