COOL BEANS: Conventional plant breeders have created 30 different types of heat and drought tolerant beans to be grown in Africa and Latin America. Unlike current GMO crops, non-GMO beans are a safe and nutritious source of protein, fiber, micronutrients and complex carbohydrates. These beans have also been bred for higher iron content to enhance nutrition. COOL BEANS are NON-GMO. GMOs are not needed, not wanted, and not proven safe. GMOs exist to sell more synthetic pesticides and to line the bank accounts of chemical companies - nothing else.

The day of assessment and planning on how to improve the Old People House in Bukumbi village, nearby Usagara.

These houses for the old people were constructed in 1974 and the instructions to construct them were given by the late Mwalimu Nyerere. The former center was in Misungwi before the construction of the current one (Bukumbi elderly people center) the old people center has a total number of 113 people while 60 are male, 14 are children below 14 years of age and 39 are female.
They have water but it is provided in two hours per day. They don’t get enough food for their daily needs.
Toilet is also a problem and three septic tanks that transfer water from the toilets are broken need to repaired soon.

Rest houses (the houses where these old people sleep)
They have 12 houses and each house has 2 ambassadors who solve different problems when they occur before they are taken to the center leader (if the chair person fails to solve them) also each house has one chairperson and assistant chairperson.
Most of old people living in the centre do not know exactly their age, the center has not only old people but others have different diseases like leprosy that they cannot work for their own they need assistance. Because of their elderly age some of them cannot get in beds so they put mattress on the floor then they sleep on it that they don’t get troubles to get in the bed.
Each house has two toilets and two birth rooms, they also need chemicals to kill germs and bacteria in the toilets and in their rooms.
They need food like rice, wheat to make ugali, vegetables, firewood, cooking oil, soap, creams and medicine.

The center has seven people with skin problems (albinos) who also need special care for their skins. In the camp there is a place called Kalwande where there are three houses each has three rooms so those three rooms makes one house, and each room carries a family. These houses do not have latrines in side so people who lives there use the outside latrines which the same latrine are used as public latrines for all the people at the camp in the afternoon.

Medications needed (by the centre clinical officer Mery Chanya.)
The following are the diseases that are mentioned to disturb people in the place.
1. Diarrhea
2. Malaria
3. Art
4. Fungus
5. Coughing
6. UTI
7. Fungi infections
8. Skin infections
9. Wounds
10. Anomie
11. Asthma
12. Hypertension
13. Eyes (there is no doctor for eyes problems)
14. Eyes problems

They are also in need of
Detal to clean latrines, stuff to kill cockroaches and mosquitos.

We will also be launching programs to get Solar power to these areas that have no access or limited access to electricity and fuel. We will focus on a technology that makes use of a new technology solar vacuum tube parabolic system that can produce hot water air conditioning as well as electricity. A larger more in depth article on this later.

Right now we are launching a program to construct Spirulina farms for the people in theses areas. This super nutritious supplement or food really will help to combat malnutrition. You can basically grow 100,000 pounds of Spirulina on an acre of land per years you can only grow 20,000 pounds of alfalfa and spirulina has much more nutritional value.
