PRDC President and First Ms. International Texas, Jeanette McIntosh, led the Ms. International Texas float alongside President Emma Ramos at the Sparks & Stripes July 4th Parade in Irving, Texas, with the delightful assistance of hardworking transportation committee volunteer, Jim Grimley. Joined by Dr. Angelica Benavidez of Alive & Beautiful and Dr. Blanca & Jose Rocha of Shelo Nabel, the team celebrated with families and friends in the Heritage District before a community reception at Heritage Park. The Independence Day festivities from 10 a.m. to noon at Heritage Park were completely transformed into a lively, old-fashioned backyard social designed for the community to gather.

Carnival Entertainment & Games

💥Watermelon Social: Attendees did fend off the mid-morning Texas heat with free, refreshing slices of cold watermelon.

💥Amusements: The park grounds featured classic carnival attractions, including a crowd-favorite dunk tank and free games.

💥Family Activities: Children did enjoy professional face painting, interactive balloon artists, and unique festival rides.

A massive shoutout to the incredible City of Irving Parade Committee for putting on an absolutely phenomenal Sparks & Stripes celebration. A Vibrant Morning Parade: Colorful, festive floats successfully traveled the route from Highland Park Town Hall to Centennial Park, greeted by cheering families all along the way.

Joyful Family Festival: Neighbors and friends gathered together to enjoy a beautiful afternoon filled with live music, delicious food, and fun kids' activities like bounce houses and a petting zoo.

A Touching Moment of Remembrance: In a deeply moving tribute, the community paused for a gentle moment of silence at the gazebo to honor the precious lives and memories of the six young local Park Cities girls who tragically passed away in the Texas Hill Country floods last summer.

Celebrating America 250 & Giving Back: Attendees beautifully marked our nation's historic milestone under the "America 250" theme while generously supporting the North Texas Food Bank to help neighbors in need.

It was deeply moving to witness past officers traveling from out of town and from outside the country just to be part of this reunion, alongside with the presence of local and retired officers. Their willingness to journey from afar speaks volumes about the deep-rooted loyalty and love that FAANTEX inspires in its leadership across generations. Special mention to Nap & Nene Ramirez from the Philippines. Nap, alongside with Oscar Macaraeg, were past presidents of PRDC. Dr. Angie Rivero, PRDC Executive Director, Jeanette Mcintosh, PRDC President and Jerlyn McAuliffe, MS Philippines Independence Chairwoman, were also present to joining and gracing the festivities.

A resounding salute goes to Linda Parong, whose exceptional guidance brought this vision to life. This triumph is also shared by the dedicated officers, hard-working committees, selfless volunteers & performers, pageant participants, and loyal supporters who poured their hearts into making this milestone unforgettable.
