Meet our new program professional!
We are pleased to announce the promotion of Summer Murray to the role of National Growth & Retention Executive (Venturing & Sea Scouting) at the National Service Center in Irving, Texas.
Summer started her Scouting career with Inland Northwest Council in Spokane, Washington, and most recently served as Field Director with the Northern Lights Council in Fargo, North Dakota, where she demonstrated strong leadership and commitment to growing Scouting programs. In her role, she successfully led membership growth initiatives, helped to develop performing teams, and implemented strategies that strengthened both recruitment and retention efforts.
Summer’s passion for both Venturing and Sea Scouting is deeply personal, and her professional experience reflects her ability to deliver meaningful impact. Her journey through Scouting began with both parents serving as professional Scouters. This led Summer to join Venturing and ultimately to serve as the President of her Venturing Crew. This personal and professional passion brings a collaborative leadership style that allows her to equip teams with the tools needed to succeed.
In her new position, Summer will play a key role in advancing growth and retention efforts for Venturing and Sea Scouting programs nationwide. Her enthusiasm, experience, and dedication will help expand opportunities for older youth across the country, ensuring these programs are relevant for today’s youth and adults.
