Congrats to former SHAC Sea Scout Riley Wendt. He’s in the Coast Guard and is stationed in Neah Bay, Washington near Cape Flattery at the Canadian border.
Riley is wearing three stripes on his sleeve, which means his rank is E-3, or enlisted three. The others in his group who graduated from boot camp are E-1. The reason he is E-3 -- two ranks and two pay grades ahead of everyone else -- is that he is an Eagle Scout.

At the 2026 National Jamboree, young adults aged 20-33 are invited to join Jamboree leadership as an ATC– an Aide to the Chief! Positioned in each area’s leadership team, ATCs learn the ins and outs of Jamboree planning, ensuring we have top leaders prepared for each and every Jamboree moving forward. The highlight: ATCs receive support both directly from their area and the Jamboree Staff Services team, meaning that from the moment they register until the day they pack up their tent, ATCs have an integrated support network to lean on. As a bonus, ATCs design the Youth Leader handbook, plan, and host a Jamboree social for young adults, and have access to a phenomenal network of fellow ATCs!

The new Sea Scout Handbook has been released!

The latest Sea Scout Handbook was released on February 18, 2025. There are many updates, especially in the area of advancement. As with the previous version, this version is only available as a downloadable PDF from the Manual Resource Center. There is no intent to provide a printed copy.
