Juneteenth reminds us that freedom was not granted all at once. It took two-and-a-half years for enslaved people in Texas to learn they were free, news deliberately withheld and delayed until federal troops arrived in Galveston on June 19, 1865.

Today, we live in a world where information moves in milliseconds, and we refuse to forget the price paid by those who fought to end slavery.

As we honor Juneteenth as a national holiday, we proudly stand in remembrance of Black history today, tomorrow, and for generations to come.

WBCS is proud to be a partner in the WBENCPitch Impact Competition. This is a national competition that consists of three rounds, beginning with each of the 14 WBENC RPOs across the country and culminating with a $20,000 grand prize for a product-based WBE and a $20,000 grand prize for a service-based WBE.

Deadline - We're accepting applications for our Regional Qualifier through Sunday, August 23 at 11:59pm CST. To be considered for the Regional Qualifier, you will need to submit a video pitch that is 1 minute or less in length, uses storytelling techniques to clearly describe who you are and what your business does in a way that addresses the below criteria and leaves a lasting impact, features the female owner(s) of the company, and is filmed on a phone, via Zoom, etc.. Professional videography and a/v is not required and will not impact your score.

DAY 3 | We may not be models, but our trailblazers of the Southwest stay poised, posed, and ready to participate!

Day 3 of the WBENC Conference left us fulfilled with industry-level knowledge around energy, construction, and knowing when to SHOW UP IN THE ROOM!

We toured the expo to connect with exhibitors, listened in to keynote speakers at the General Session, and Plus! We made time to take in the beautiful scenery that is Salt Lake City!
