As we mark three years since the bombardment of Gaza began, children like Khaled continue to strive for an education amid the devastation. Studying without a home or electricity, Khaled salvaged notebooks from rubble and walked over 9 miles daily just to reach his classroom – a tent at Baitulmaal’s Hope School.

Against all odds, his determination paid off: Khaled scored 99.4% on his exams, ranking among the top 10 students across all of Gaza.
