***Internship Job Description***

The selected candidate will help to ensure we are consistently sharing our content via our social media channels.

The process will include:
● Receiving assignment list for posting from the editor on the first day of your workweek
● Researching to determine if the subject of the story/photo has a social media profile on
each of our social media channels
● Researching to identify relevant hashtags
● Preparing a sample text of how the post will look to the editor for review
● Scheduling post
● Responding to any comments from the audience
○ Attend the Irving School Board meetings; story due by Noon the following day.
○ Attend the ​Irving City Council Meetings​ on Thursdays at 7 p.m. Story due by
Noon the next day.
○ Attend the Dallas ISD School Board Meetings alternating Thursdays, story due by
10 a.m. next day.
○ The agendas are released a week in advance, on Fridays sent a summary and
spotlight at least two topics you believe we should cover. Due to the editor by 6 p.m. on Fridays.

Hours to be determined - estimated up to 15 hours per week Pay rate is $7.25

Program Dates: June 22 - 30
Application Deadline: Friday, March 20 @ 12:00 pm

The Dallas-Sendai Young Ambassadors Program is one of JASDFW's flagship public diplomacy programs. Six high school students will have the chance to experience a homestay in Japan, experience Japanese daily life firsthand, and build connections that will last a life time. Semi-finalists will be invited to interview and final results will be announced in early April.

Eligibility Requirements:
Dallas/Fort Worth area high school student (Grades 9 -11)
U.S. Citizenship
