Apples and Oranges Arts

Apples and Oranges Arts Our main program is our THEatre ACCELERATOR for theatre writers. We offer free participation, but projects must go through a selection process.

Apples and Oranges Arts is dedicated to taking the "Starving Out of Artists" by provided educational, virtual tools for artists hoping to break into the industry. Launched as an immersive musical theatre development accelerator for promising storytellers, our THEatre ACCELERATOR serves as a completely virtual, intensive development accelerator for theatrical storytellers, completely free for all p

articipants. The program integrates traditional methods of narrative and skills development with a tech startup approach and bold use of technology. Our artists come away with the know-how and tools to create new work and connect to audiences immediately using the best our traditional industry blended with technology startup culture. During the THEatre ACCELERATOR program, we educate and mentor artists using tech startup concepts (growth hacking, pivoting, Product Market Fit, MVP) to help them connect early on with audiences and investors. On the tech side, we help artists explore new development and distribution possibilities, among them Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and 360-degree filming. The program culminates in a live ‘Shark-Tank’-style pitch session where participants present their shows to theatre and tech industry veterans and investors. Each day of the two-week program, we offer our participants the unique experience to hear from a mentor who is an expert in their field. We bring in professionals who either have vast experience in theatre or in technology/ start-ups. Some of our past mentors include:
• Deborah Barrera- Founder/Producer, Firemused Productions
• Renee Kaplan- CEO/ Founder
• Randi Zuckerberg- Founder/Actress, Zuckerberg Media/Rock of Ages
• David Hornick- General Partner/Tech Investor, August Capital

Additional Programs include ShowbizU- featured on our Youtube Channel- offers hundreds of interviews with industry professionals who give key insights into career success.
