Project Tomorrow

Project Tomorrow Project Tomorrow is a national education nonprofit group based in Irvine, California.

Programs:

Speak Up

Speak Up is a national K-12 research project facilitated by Project Tomorrow, the nation’s leading education nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering student voices in education. Each year, we facilitate the online surveys and ask K-12 students:

◦ how they are using and would like to use technology for learning in and out of school
◦ the benefits of using technology f

or learning
◦ their attitudes and interest in math and science, as well as career aspirations
◦ how they self-assess their 21st century skills competencies

To help schools and districts, as well as education and policy leaders gain a deeper understanding about the opportunities, challenges and potential outcomes of integrating technology into our nation’s classrooms, Speak Up also surveys teachers, administrators, librarians and parents. The Speak Up data represents the largest collection of authentic, unfiltered stakeholder voices regarding digital learning. Since fall 2003, over 3.9 million K-12 students, parents, teachers, librarians, principals, technology leaders and district administrators have shared their views and ideas through Speak Up. Youth Teach to Learn

The YouthTEACH2Learn program is a career exploration program where high school students explore teaching as a career. During the course, the high school students gain practical experience by observing elementary school classrooms, learning how to teach, developing and teaching standards-based lessons to younger students in neighboring elementary schools and participating in local community service projects. In addition, the high school students also have the opportunity to meet local educators, attend career panels and visit local college campuses in order to determine if the teaching is a "good-fit" for their professional goals. Recognizing the importance of mentoring our youth and supporting their career goals, the full year YouthTEACH2Learn program also provides 3 units of transferable college credit. Youth Leadership Summit for Math & Science

The “Leading the Way: Youth Leadership Summit for Math & Science” is a unique opportunity for Orange County’s high school students to share their ideas on how to improve math and science education and to learn about how math and science proficiency is a critical skill for many current and future jobs in Orange County. This interactive, half-day summit empowers students to explore careers in the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields and provide these students with valuable information about the workforce development trends in the county and what they need to do to be well prepared for the jobs of the future. Additionally, through working group discussions, we capture the students’ ideas on how to improve K-12 math and science education and thus, Orange County’s economic future. Innovation in Education Awards

Innovation Award categories include: Innovative School Program, High Impact Teacher and Emerging Student Innovator. Educators and K-12 students from all schools in Orange County, CA are eligible for the awards. California Future Educators Association

Our mission as the California affiliate for F.E.A. is to encourage students to learn about careers in education and aid them in exploring teaching while providing meaningful opportunities to receive the mentoring and support they need to actualize their career aspirations. California FEA was founded in 2011 so that students across California would have the opportunity:

◦ To learn about the teaching profession, its opportunities and responsibilities
◦ To explore their interests and abilities in relation to the various fields of teaching
◦ To cultivate the qualities of character, service and leadership which are essential in good teachers
◦ To learn how and where teachers receive their training, the cost, scholarships available, number of years required, certification requirements and standards
◦ To study the lives and influence of great teachers

📢 Now Available: The New Texas K‑12 Cybersecurity Report

Project Tomorrow — in partnership with iboss and co‑branded with TCEA — has released a powerful new report examining how Texas school districts are preparing for escalating cyber threats in the age of AI.

This Special Texas Edition includes exclusive statewide benchmarks, giving districts a clear view of how their cybersecurity posture compares to peers across Texas.

Key findings from Texas education leaders include:
🔹 79% say cybersecurity is their #1 challenge
🔹 96% believe K‑12 schools are at greater risk today than ever
🔹 57% say AI brings both new threats and new defensive opportunities
🔹 Many districts still lack funding, leadership buy‑in, and effective staff training

The report outlines five critical leadership imperatives designed to help Texas districts strengthen cybersecurity, protect student data, and ensure continuity of learning.
