Congratulations to Sustain SoCal board member Karma Automotive!

The Karma Gyesera has been named the 2027 Luxury Green Car of the Year by Green Car Journal, one of the auto industry's most respected environmental honors.

From Irvine-based Karma, the Gyesera pairs 566 horsepower with Karma's extended-range electric (EREV) technology and a combined range of 360 miles. It's proof that sustainability and performance can share the same road.

We're proud to count Karma among the Southern California leaders driving cleaner transportation forward, and we look forward to celebrating with our members at Karma's Irvine headquarters for our Holiday Party on November 18.

Sustain SoCal is looking to our regional stakeholders to determine the best way to develop our cities. One look at this list showcases the variety of perspectives needed in this conversation. Local elects, digital twin technologists, infrastructure professionals, housing experts, energy providers, and champions of public space will all gather on April 4 from 1-7:30pm at UCI Beall Applied Innovation to have this essential conversation. Happy National Strawberry Day! 🍓

During our Innovating towards Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems event last week we heard from Jose Arriaga, the Agricultural Commissioner / Sealer of Weights and Measures at the County of Orange, on the economic value of various California crops.

Strawberries alone contribute $2.6 billion to our state economy. Next time you snack on some strawberries, consider the farmers that grew them and how the department of agriculture is looking out for our entire food system!
