06/24/2024

The primary goal of the environmental review process is to produce a legally defensible document that accurately evaluates a project’s potential impacts on the surrounding environment. In order to achieve this goal, planners are often called upon to review the technical work of others or to have our own documents reviewed by qualified experts in the field. Throughout this peer review process, project managers must efficiently coordinate multiple rounds of review, submittals, and comments. So, how do you stay organized and ensure that deliverables are prepared on schedule and within budget?
This lunch program will focus on sharing best practices for the peer review of supporting technical work that you can incorporate into your next project! Learn how to set clear expectations, avoid pitfalls and schedule delays, clear up confusion early on in the peer review process, and establish consistency between all supporting technical work. Understand the importance of maintaining ongoing, meaningful communication between parties and treating all those involved with the respect that their expertise deserves. Join public and private sector planners who have extensive experience with the peer review process for a discussion of how to keep things on track when important questions and concerns are raised by reviewers.

⭐️Date & Time: Thursday, July 11th, 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. (lunch/networking starts at 11:30, program will run from 12-1)
🌳Location: Quail Hill Community Center, 39 Shady Canyon Dr., Irvine
