Corazon de Vida Foundation

Corazon de Vida Foundation We are a for-purpose organization giving life-saving support to orphanages in Mexico & building futures for abandoned children through long-term education.

CDV provides life-changing support for orphaned and abandoned children in Baja, Mexico by funding local orphanages, providing quality of life improvement services and investing in the children’s future by funding higher education. Through our life-sustaining program we provide monthly funding for the orphanages under our care. These orphanages give abandoned children security, nutrition, shelter a

nd access to a reliable education. We also fund scholarships for teens aging out of the orphanage system to continue their education.

Did you know that if you signed up for our trip, your friends and family can still support the group homes without having to join the trip themselves? ❤️

When you claim your fundraising page, anyone in your network can donate directly to the home you’ll be visiting. It’s an easy way to extend the impact beyond the trip itself.

Last trip, 16 participants claimed their fundraising pages (the most we’ve ever had) and every single campaign made a difference for the children and homes we support.

Here’s how to get started:
• Check your inbox for the email titled “Claim your Campaign”
• Click “Claim your fundraising page”
• Personalize your page with your story and fundraising goal
• Share it on Facebook and invite your community to be part of the impact 🙌

A group of students from Loyola High School in Los Angeles recently spent their weekend at one of the group homes we work with in Baja. They came to paint, make repairs and take care of things that needed attention.
It is easy to underestimate what that kind of visit means in practice.

For the staff managing these homes day to day, having a team show up and take on physical work that would otherwise wait is genuinely helpful. For the students living there, it is a reminder that people outside their immediate world care about the space they call home.

We are grateful to Loyola High School for making this happen and for instilling in their students the value of showing up for others. 🫶🏻✨

GRID Alternatives is the nation's largest nonprofit solar installer. Since 2004 they have been making renewable energy accessible to communities that would otherwise not have it.

Their work in Baja California brought them into a partnership with Corazón de Vida. They installed solar systems across the group homes we support and the results have been significant.

The homes have reported a 70% reduction in energy costs since installation. For homes that operate entirely on private donations, that number has a direct impact on what is possible every month. Resources that were going toward electricity bills can now go toward the children living in these homes.

We are grateful to GRID Alternatives for bringing their expertise to Baja and for the lasting difference their work continues to make. ❤️💚

For many years, She Rocks Fitness has supported Corazón de Vida through holiday giving, donations, and visits to the homes we support in Baja California.

Recently, they helped address an important need by raising funds for dental and vision care for the children in our care network. Their original goal was $2,000, but thanks to their community, they exceeded it by raising over $3,000 to help provide services such as cavity fillings, extractions, deep cleanings, and pain relief treatment through local professionals offering reduced-cost care.

We’re grateful for partners like She Rocks Fitness who continue investing in the well-being and confidence of the children we serve.❤️💚

Our next bus trip is June 20th and spots are going fast.
A full day in Tijuana with the children in our group homes. The people who have done it will tell you that it is unlike anything else.

Our team has been safely guiding visitors across the border for over 20 years. If you have been following our work and wondering what it actually looks like up close, this is your chance to find out.

If you are not able to make it share this with someone who should be on that bus. ❤️💚

Peer to peer fundraising is when someone from our community creates a personal fundraiser on behalf of Corazón de Vida and shares it with the people in their life.

When you share a fundraiser with your network, you are not just raising funds. You are introducing over 500 children across ten group homes in Baja to people who may never have heard of them before. That introduction comes through your voice, your story and your personal connection to this cause.

For organizations like ours, that operate entirely on donations, that reach matters as much as the dollars raised. Every person in your network who learns about our mission through you is someone who may carry it forward long after your fundraiser ends.

Here is how to get started:
1. Click Fundraisers in the left hand menu on your Facebook homepage
2. Click Raise Money and select Nonprofit/Charity
3. Search for Corazón de Vida and select it
4. Set your goal, end date, title and a short description about why this cause matters to you
5. Click Create and share it with your network

Facebook charges no fees on nonprofit fundraisers, every dollar goes directly to Corazón de Vida. The impact of one fundraiser goes further than most people expect. ❤️

In late March, 18 volunteers from Project Compassion spent two days at one of the communities we work with in Tijuana and saw approximately 175 patients of all ages. Every person received vitamins, medications and medical advice, at no cost.

Project Compassion has been doing this kind of work in Baja California since 1992. They show up with qualified medical volunteers, set up in the community and provide care to everyone who walks through the door without exception.

For the children we work with across Baja, access to this level of medical attention is not guaranteed. What Project Compassion provides in two days is something that would otherwise take months to coordinate and resources most of these homes simply do not have.

This is what volunteering looks like when it is done with intention. We are incredibly grateful for their continued commitment to this community. ❤️💚
