"The US and Russia possess 93% of the world’s approximately 16,300 nuclear weapons. While about 6,300 await dismantlement around the world, 4000 are operationally available. An estimated 1800 remain on high alert, ready to launch on short notice. The US nuclear fleet rests not only at 12 sites in 11 US states, but also at 6 sites in 5 different European countries. Russia is more opaque about the locations of its nuclear weapons but is estimated to have permanent storage at 40 locations within the country."

Hey GZ!!!

We will be having an informational meeting TOMORROW (Monday, January 27th) at 7PM in Social Ecology II 1306. Come learn about our very exciting ideas and plans for the rest of the year.

Our chapter hopes to organize more campaign initiatives on our campus, and to invite more signatories to speak at UCI. We would like to invite you all to be a part of making it happen!

With most of our UCI founding members having graduated, our leadership has been in transition, and we are still looking for new and old faces who would like to become a bigger part of the movement and become a Global Zero Student Leader.

UCI GZ commemorated the 4 year anniversary of President Obama giving his historic speech in Prague in 2009 where he states clearly with conviction America's support for a world without nuclear weapons. GZ UCI celebrated by displaying a cut-out of the President himself and some other interactive materials! WE DEMAND ZERO!
