Broadcom Foundation sponsored the 2026 SARSEF Fair Directors Conference! Focused on the future of STEM, sessions were designed to help make STEM and coding accessible for every child in Arizona through Science Fair. 23 educators and fair directors from 21 different schools across the state attended! This was the first of several conferences that will take place throughout the state.

"The conference was informative and inspiring. I appreciate the opportunity to connect with fellow educators and learn new ideas that will help strengthen our SARSEF Fair collaboration and support our students." said an attendee.

Congratulations Siddhansh, Broadcom Coding with Commitment® winner at Hitachi Science and Engineering Fair, Alameda County!

Broadcom Coding with Commitment® recognizes students in middle school who combine STEM learning with coding to solve a community problem they care about that aligns with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

Siddhansh's project “A Solar Powered, Servo-Controlled, Automated Fog Netting System” aims to improve fog harvesting systems that provide millions of people globally with fresh water and in arid regions. Siddhansh used C++ programming, a MG90S micro servo controlled by an Arduino nano to create a solar-powered automated fog netting system which adapts to the humidity and maximizes water generation. His project aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #6 Clean Water and Sanitation.

Broadcom Coding with Commitment® provides a catalyst for students to learn basic coding and AI as essential problem-solving tools in STEM. It fosters active civic engagement by thinking globally while acting locally.

Siddhansh says, "Coding helps me understand how the technology I use every day actually works. Instead of just using technology, I am learning how to control it and what's behind it!"

Paula Golden, Broadcom Foundation, and Jan Morrison (TIES) joined a cohort of 100 international philanthropic leaders at the opening sessions for the San Miguel Forum 2026 where issues of scaling up philanthropic projects like that of the Broadcom Foundation are being discussed and examined.

Opening remarks touched on how the future of philanthropy will be impacted by tapping the huge resource of private funding driven by AI in the wake of retreat from many social problems by governments worldwide whose resources have been overtaxed.

Topics include reducing dropouts, youth employment, water conservation, women’s health.
