Congratulations Sage, winner of the Broadcom Coding with Commitment® award at Gwinnett Regional Science, Engineering + Innovation Fair!

Sage used coding and AI to develop his project "Automatic Trash/Metal Sorting System", a program that helps identify and sort trash into recyclable and non-recyclables to help support sustainability in his community! His project aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #11 Sustainable Cities and Communities.

Congratulations Sonya, winner of the Broadcom Coding with Commitment® award at Reading-Berks Science and Engineering Fair!

Her project "Dr. Serenity Marigold - Your Custom AI Therapist" offers an online AI alternative to traditional therapy with user safety built in using programming. Her project aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #3: Good Health and Well-Being.

Sonya said, "Coding helped me with this entire project including many different types of code. My project contains JSON requests to connect the AI and I used PHP to make a custom plug-in inside my word press website."

Broadcom Coding with Commitment® recognizes students in middle school who combine STEM learning with coding to solve a community problem they care about that aligns with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

Om's project “Kernel Size in Character Recognition Accuracy” tests the best kernel size for handwritten character recognition in the EMNIST dataset using a CNN with source code available. His project aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #9 Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.

Om said, "Coding helped me with my project, I used AI to debug my code!"

Abir's project “Privacy-Safe” focuses on the development of a non-contact hazard alert system for bathrooms designed to detect accidents and improve incident response times. His project aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #3 Good Health and Well-Being.

IRIS National Fair

Congratulations Ronan, Broadcom Coding with Commitment® $10,000 award winner at ISEF 2026!

Broadcom Coding with Commitment® is an award offered at Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair that recognizes students who combine STEM learning with coding to solve a community problem they care about that aligns with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

Ronan's project, "ENBM009 - CAPILL: Compliance Aid Promoting Independent Living Long-term", is a solution to improve medication management for people with reduced hand mobility caused by conditions such as arthritis, rheumatism or Parkinson's Disease.

Inspired by his time working at a local pharmacy, Ronan set out to design a device and supporting app to facilitate ease of access and improved medication management after hearing from patients who struggled opening or managing their medication due to reduced hand mobility. His project aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #3 Good Health & Well-Being.

Ronan says, " My device and supporting app will ensure that the right patient receives the right medication at the right time, every time." His current prototype uses a fingerprint scanner and an RTC to improve medication compliance and patient safety, while the supporting app allows family members and care providers to support the patient and promote independence.
