Good morning fam! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!
We have a veteran who struggles with severe ptsd, anxiety, & TBI. He has two kids 9 & 12. He & his children were homeless for 19 months. He has severe past trauma he is working through. 5 months ago he put every penny he had in to getting an apartment. He has no savings & no help. He was in an accident, not at fault, the person who hit him was not insured. Causing him significant stress. His truck was a 98 so insurance is ruling it totaled. He has not registered with the VA for benefits so we are assisting him with that tomorrow. Most veterans don’t even know where to start with the VA process because separation from the military doesn’t touch on that topic like they should. Due to the issues he is facing, not having rental car coverage, having to pay for a long term rental car he is short nearly $740 on his rent. He is alone, no family to turn to. We have $340 towards this need ready to go, leaving roughly $400 remaining. We are hoping everyone might be able to jump in to help him. The stress over this is affecting him so much that he ended up in the E.R last night from throwing up blood. He was told & provided us with copies this morning of the hospital discharge that he has stomach ulcers most definitely related to stress. We are hoping to bring him a little peace today by getting the rent sorted for him. This veteran is struggling immensely & we’d love to have your support on this case because this is a veteran that we feel is struggling beyond even the obvious situations. We have a volunteer, veteran himself, who is a peer support specialist, and he is going to see Rzepka this morning to be that brother he needs to hopefully bring Rzepka down emotionally, and just show him we are working hard to cure this need to keep him in his home. Often times a fellow vet who’s lived through similar deployments & service is the connection they need during these hard situations. Unfortunately, it doesn’t help Rzepka that the insurance co is taking their time on this accident and dealing with the person who hit him. Please consider donating.
