We are hiring a part-time, remote Referral Coordinator to help make sure people experiencing actually get connected to the and they need.

Remote (California residents)
20–30 hrs/week, Mon–Fri
$30/hr + 401(k) and PTO

CalAIM or direct service experience is a plus. This is the kind of behind-the-scenes work that keeps referrals from falling through the cracks, and it matters.

Orange County is moving on senior housing.

Brea City Hall City Council just approved $60 million in bonds to build 85 affordable apartments for seniors earning under 70% of area median income, with leasing preferences for veterans and local residents. Construction is expected to start this month.

It’s a meaningful step for a city that’s permitted only about 4% of its state housing goal since 2021. Every unit counts, especially for older adults on fixed incomes who are feeling the squeeze of rising rents.

Stable housing is health care. We’re glad to see projects like this moving forward.

Housing for Health || Housing & Service Provider is now the Transitional Rent provider for Tuolumne, Calaveras, and Amador counties.

Transitional Rent is a Medi-Cal benefit under CalAIM’s Community Supports program. It offers up to six months of rental assistance for people with significant behavioral health needs, including those in recovery from substance use disorder, who are experiencing or at risk of . It’s meant to bridge the gap between crisis and stability, whether someone’s coming out of a treatment program, an institutional setting, or another high-risk situation. Eligibility is expected to expand over time.

We know what it takes to get this right. Our team works closely with local behavioral health systems to make sure members get connected to care, not just a roof.

From January to June 2026, the HHCA Cal AIM collaborative showed up for 1,800+ members across Orange County, meeting people exactly where they were—whether that meant finding housing, staying housed, building life skills, or getting the wraparound support they needed to thrive.

This is what collaboration looks like when it’s built around people, not paperwork.

The Housing for Health || Housing & Service Provider team had the opportunity to visit our provider partners at Code Tenderloin this week and see their work up close.

Based in San Francisco, Code Tenderloin is tackling from every angle: workforce development, supportive services, digital inclusion, behavioral health, and direct response. Their work is a powerful example of what’s possible when a community invests in economic mobility and housing stability for its people.

We left inspired by the dedication of their staff and the resilience of the folks they serve every day.

Founded in 2019, Set Free Sanger is a faith-based ministry supporting individuals on their journey toward wellness, recovery, and reintegration into society. Their approach combines a wide range of treatment services with the power of community and faith, rooted in the belief that anyone can overcome addiction and find healing, hope, and lasting wellness.

To date, Set Free Sanger has helped hundreds of people restore their lives to productivity and independence. Their work began in the City of Sanger and the surrounding communities, and has since grown to serve individuals from across the state. They’re also recognized by Fresno County’s criminal justice departments as a trusted place of rehabilitation.
