It is with great sorrow that The Friends of the Irrigon Library acknowledge the passing of Dolly Parton. Dolly impacted people all across the globe in many different ways. She was an American singer, songwriter, actress, businesswoman, and philanthropist.
To us, Dolly was the driving force behind the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. The Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age five, through funding shared by Dolly Parton and local community partners like The Friends of the Irrigon Library, which single-handedly supports the Dolly Parton Imagination Library for the whole of Morrow County.
The Imagination Library will continue sending books to eligible children in Parton's absence, a spokesperson for the Dollywood Company confirmed.

What does FOIL do? We spark positive change in our community, often behind the scenes, but always with a lasting impact! 🌟 Twice a year, we host a vibrant book sale and craft fair, celebrating the incredible talents of local artisans. We empower the next generation with a scholarship for eligible High School Seniors in Irrigon, and bring joy to children aged 0-5 in Morrow County through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, covering all fees. Join us at our next meeting on August 19th at 6 pm at the Irrigon Library and be part of creating a brighter future! 🌈

A huge THANK YOU from the Friends of the Irrigon Library!

We want to send a special shoutout to the amazing volunteers who helped us move books for our latest book sale. Thank you to our local high school students—Sue, Michael, Ayden, Meteo, and Eliza—and a big thanks to Pat Tolar!

We truly couldn't have done it without your hard work and heavy lifting.
