Preparation before release can change what happens after release.

We are incredibly grateful for the staff at Snake River Correctional Institution and our partnership with the Oregon Department of Corrections in expanding reentry support to individuals housed in the IMU (Intensive Management Unit) and SHU (Special Housing Unit).

Following our quarterly presentations and access to the Opportunity Oregon employment and reentry portal, we are now scheduling virtual meetings to begin preparing for life after incarceration with individuals in segregation housing before release.

These conversations focus on employment, mentorship, housing, and connecting individuals with trusted reentry community partners across Oregon.

The first 72 hours after release are critical. Having a plan, a support network, and connections to employment and essential resources before walking out the door can make all the difference.

We are grateful for the correctional staff inside IMU & SHU at SRCI who make this access possible and for the incredible reentry partners across Oregon who continue to step up and be part of the solution.

Preparation is key. Connection matters. And reentry starts before the gate opens.

Don't try to change what makes them different.
Sometimes, the thing others see as 'too much' is actually where their greatest potential lives.
Encourage their passion, nurture their strengths, and give them space to show the world how they think.
