Not sure who to call when something happens in your neighborhood? Knowing which number to call can save time and get you the right help faster. Here's a quick guide from the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office.

Call for an emergency - 911
An immediate threat to life or property or a medical emergency.
• A vehicle crashed and I think someone is hurt.
• I'm seeing or hearing an active fight or possible domestic violence incident.
• Someone I donʼt know is at the front door trying to get in.

Non-emergency line - (503) 823-3333
You need police, fire, or ambulance — but there is no immediate threat.
• Someone is illegally parked or abandoned their vehicle on the road/sidewalk.
• Thereʼs a loud party next door after 11 p.m. on a weeknight.

File a report online – mcso.mycasenumber.us
A crime already happened, thereʼs no suspect, and no one needs to be dispatched.
• My bike was stolen overnight.
• A package was taken from my porch.
• Thereʼs graffiti on the side of our building.
NOTE: This system does not replace 911 and should not be used for in-progress crimes or when the suspect is known.

Connect to resources - 311
There’s no threat and no emergency services needed — you just want help or information.
• Iʼd like to be connected to a county service or resource.
• I have questions about my local government in Multnomah County

🌟 Success Story Wednesday 🌟

Wayne was released from prison on October 30 after serving 15 years and walked into our office in November 2025 ready for a fresh start.

We immediately connected him with one of our fair-chance employer partners in the trucking industry while helping him begin the process of pursuing CDL training through WorkSource Oregon. He is currently on the CDL training waitlist, which will increase his earning potential even further.

Seven months later, Wayne is thriving. He’s become the trucking company’s #1 employee and is building a future he can be proud of.

When asked how life is going, Wayne’s response was simple:

“My life is just moving forward.”

This is what reentry success looks like—opportunity, hard work, and employers willing to give people a second chance.

We're proud to support workforce development and inspire the next generation of behavioral health professionals in rural and frontier Oregon!
