An Update on Little Lucy. She had her follow up appointment today at VCA County West Animal Hospital Her skin infection and ear infection are totally clear! She will have to remain on allergy medication for her skin and lubricant for her dry eye for the rest of her life. Lucy also has been diagnosed with a grade 5 heart murmur. This is pretty severe so what it means is unless she gets an echocardiogram done to check her heart, she can not undergo any surgical procedure including a spay. So why even try to spay her? Because without it, she is at risk every day of developing a different life threatening condition called a pyometra, which is an infection of the uterus. And on top of all that, she has 2 mammary tumors which should be removed and tested at the time of her spay, if she can be spayed. There is a 50/50 chance of them being cancerous or not! So, we look for one amazing adopter who can give the most sweet and deserving girl a home and manage all her medical care while giving her the love she deserves.
