Bogey got to go on a camping trip in the Porkies last weekend with one of our volunteers!!! ❤️
She told us he did so good and made friends with pretty much every person and dog they met along the way. She said he was so sweet, super gentle and also clingy, which she loved! 😅 Doesn't surprise us one bit! We already know how much of a lover he is!

Bogey really needed this as he doesn't do very well at the shelter and we can't thank Megan enough for bringing him along on her adventure! 🥰

We are in need of a new foster or better yet, an adopter for Mr. Toklo!!! ❤️

Toklo has been doing well in his current foster home and his foster dad adores him but he has a new job lined up that will be more demanding of his time. The foster doesn't want to see him have to come back to the shelter after enjoying a home for a month and neither do we! So we're hoping someone can help us out! We are looking for someone to take him starting next week!
Toklo is a good boy who gets along with other dogs and seems to really enjoy kids! He is about 3 years old.

The H.O.P.E. Animal Shelter Fundraising Committee is gearing up for the annual "Dog Hike" event September 13th. We are looking for vendors/businesses that would like to be a part of this - perhaps you sell food/drinks, are a veterinarian and want to have an information table about the importance of heart worm medication, spay and neutering or whatever, or area pet groomer who maybe wants to trim nails or just let people know about your business! Or maybe you want to donate water, human treats, or even non-human treats! We don't have all of the details hashed out, but the more the merrier to make this a great event. Sharing some of our shy gray cats who keep getting overlooked at the shelter. 🩶

Monet - Around 3 years old (male)
Luca - 5 months old (male)
Solara - 5 months old (male)

These 3 cuties are a little more timid and aren't the kind of cats to perk up and show themselves when people walk in the room. They need a little extra time to feel safe but they really are all so sweet and have calm demeanors. They would all do well in a home with other feline friends. It would probably be beneficial for Luca and Solara especially because they are still so young and open up more when they have a playmate. We just don't think they had a whole lot of human interaction/socialization before coming to us.
Shy cats need love too! ❤️😸 They are all neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines! Ready to find their furever homes!

UPDATE - JAX ADOPTED!

Home to Home Adoption 🏠🐾🏠

Meet Jax and Luka! Unfortunately, their current owners have some family circumstances happening that make it necessary to rehome them, through no fault of their own or of the owners.

Jax is a 2-year-old, unaltered male, German Shepherd who loves kids and is very good with other dogs. He is protective of his family and is very well behaved. He stays in the yard when outside and doesn't try to wander off, sleeps in his crate at night and is house trained.

Luka is a 7-year-old, spayed female, Pit Bull/Boxer mix who is very sweet with kids and gets along well with other dogs. She is house trained and does not sleep in a crate at night. She does like to wander off and explore if not monitored and is curious about her surroundings so a fenced in yard may be preferrable for her.
