The venues for performances are located at the First Presbyterian Church of Ironton and the Ironton High School auditorium.

The Ironton Council for the Arts is an non-profit, all-volunteer organization that has
provided a variety of outstanding music and performing arts performances to its audience at affordable prices since 1980. Its principal function is to hold its annual subscription concert series (5-6 performances, October to April) but it also supports educational outreach performances by guest performers in the local high schools. Anyone may purchase individual concert tickets ($15 apiece) or a season pass ($50 apiece) and students are admitted for free. The Ironton Council for the Arts has 501©(3) tax exempt status as a non-profit organization and is incorporated under the laws of the State of Ohio.

CONCERT THIS SUNDAY! 🎶

Appalatin is bringing its foot-stomping, hip-swinging mix of Appalachian folk and Latin music to the Riffe Rotunda at Ohio University Southern this Sunday, October 18 at 3 PM!

The Louisville-based band formed when Kentucky-raised musicians met musicians from Ecuador, Nicaragua, and Guatemala. With guitar, mandolin, upright bass, charango, Andean flutes, hand percussion, harmonica, and plenty of vocal harmonies, their eclectic sound is sure to please listeners of all ages.

Tickets are $15 at the door, and students of all ages and children get in free.

The Greater Huntington Symphonic Band and Jazz Band are back, and this time they're just across the river. If you caught their patriotic concert with us this summer, here's another chance to hear them.

They'll play the Central Park Gazebo in Ashland this Sunday, September 20, at 4 p.m., as part of Poage Landing Days. Bring a lawn chair and settle in for an afternoon of concert band and jazz favorites.

The Ironton Council for the Arts is glad to partner with this group year after year, and we love seeing them out in the community. Come cheer them on!

🇺🇸 What a wonderful way to kick off Independence Day week and open a brand-new concert season!

Thank you to everyone who joined us Tuesday evening as Ironton Council for the Arts and Ironton aLive welcomed the talented musicians of the Greater Huntington Symphonic Band for our 4th Annual Patriotic Concert.

From stirring patriotic to crowd-pleasing favorites from the Symphonic and Jazz Bands, the evening showcased the incredible talent of nearly 50 musicians performing on wind, brass, and percussion instruments. We were thrilled to celebrate with so many friends, families, and community members as part of Ironton aLive's Summer Tuesday Night Concert Series.

The concert also marked the opening of the 2026-27 subscription season for the Ironton Council for the Arts — our 46th year of bringing high-quality, low-cost performances to the Tri-State area.

We're excited for what's ahead this season, including an eclectic roots and folk ensemble, an Emmy-winning cellist, a local singer-songwriter, a classical pianist, a Celtic music and dance ensemble, and a dynamic percussion and jazz ensemble.

Season subscriptions are available now for just $50 for all six concerts, with individual tickets priced at $15 and free admission for students and children of all ages.

Due to the excessive heat and humidity forecast for next Tuesday, June 30, and out of concern for members of the Greater Huntington Symphonic Band who may be vulnerable to heat-related health issues, the Patriotic Concert has been moved indoors.

While we know this may be an inconvenience for some attendees, the safety and well-being of our musicians and guests comes first, and we appreciate your understanding.

Most importantly, the concert is still FREE and open to the public, so we hope you'll join us for an evening of patriotic music performed by the Greater Huntington Symphonic Band. We look forward to seeing you Tuesday evening!

Tonight at the Ro-Na Theater! 🎭

The Ironton Council for the Arts is proud to support tonight's free performance by the Armfolk Yerevan Group, a youth dance ensemble from Yerevan, Armenia. Their visit is part of the 2026 International Youth Cultural Exchange Tour, bringing traditional Armenian dance and folk traditions to communities across the United States, and tonight, to our own historic downtown.

Join us at 7 p.m. at the Ro-Na Theatre for an unforgettable evening of music, movement and cultural exchange. Free and open to everyone!

A huge thank you to the Rotary Club of Ironton for bringing this incredible group to Ironton, and to Friends of Ironton, the Kiwanis Club of Greater Ironton, Ohio, and Foundation for Appalachian Ohio – Lawrence County Community Foundation for making the performance possible.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the String Therapy concert yesterday at Ohio University Southern! We are so grateful for such a wonderful audience and appreciate your support of live music and arts in our community.

This performance concludes our 2025-2026 season. However, we do have our 4th Annual FREE Patriotic Concert featuring the Greater Huntington Jazz Band
& Symphonic Band! Don't miss them playing a number of patriotic arrangements at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, June 30th at the Ironton Farmers Market!

Known for their driving rhythm and dynamic sound, the band draws inspiration from artists like Tony Rice, Béla Fleck, and New Grass Revival blending traditional bluegrass with touches of rock classics from bands like The Beatles and The Allman Brothers.
