A huge thank you to the Rotary Club of Ironton for bringing this incredible group to Ironton, and to Friends of Ironton, the Kiwanis Club of Greater Ironton, Ohio, and Foundation for Appalachian Ohio – Lawrence County Community Foundation for making the performance possible.

This is the kind of Sunday afternoon you'll want to clear your schedule for.

On Sunday, April 12 at 3 PM, the Ironton Council for the Arts welcomes Cypress The Band to First Presbyterian Church for an afternoon of modern folk rooted in the Appalachian tradition.

This Nashville-based trio brings together married vocalists and songwriters Zac and Cierra Doss alongside cellist Steven Schumann, whose playing blends the feel of fiddle and blues with the depth of classical training. The result is a sound that is hard to put in a box and genuinely worth hearing live.

Admission is $15, and students and children are always free at ICA events. Come spend a Sunday afternoon with us.

Two hundred and fifty years is worth celebrating with something special.

On Sunday, March 29, the Ohio University Symphony Orchestra is traveling from Athens to perform right here in Ironton, celebrating America's 250th birthday. The program is filled with music that carries weight, Aaron Copland's Rodeo, the Armed Forces Salute, America the Beautiful, pieces that have soundtracked American life for generations. Pieces that mean something.

Whether you're a lifelong classical music lover or you've never been to a symphony performance in your life, this is an afternoon worth showing up for. Bring your family. Bring a friend. Come and be part of something that connects us to each other, to this place, and to 250 years of a story still being written.
