If you’ve ever been to Camp Penuel, you already know one thing… OUR KIDS LOVE TO FISH! 😂🎣

Almost every single day, from morning until evening, you can find somebody sitting on one of our docks with a fishing pole in their hand, waiting for that BIG ONE to bite! 🐟

But last summer, we ran into a little problem… WE COULDN’T KEEP ENOUGH WORMS! 😳🪱

No matter how hard we tried, we always had kids who wanted to fish but couldn’t because we had run out of bait. And around here, we believe EVERY CHILD deserves the chance to experience camp to the fullest!

So this week… we solved the problem! 🙌

🎉 CAMP PENUEL NOW HAS ITS VERY OWN WORM FARM! 🎉

Our little worms will be fed fruits and vegetables once a week, and they’ll do what worms do best… MULTIPLY! 😂🪱🪱🪱

Before long, we’ll have plenty of worms for all those fishing poles, all those docks, and hopefully LOTS of BIG FISH! 🎣🐟

At Camp Penuel, we work hard to make sure every child has the opportunity to experience everything camp has to offer—from swimming and boating to fishing, games, nature, friendships, and most importantly, learning about the love of Jesus! ❤️

Because we don’t just want kids to come to camp…

We want them to experience CAMP TO THE FULLEST!

And now, thanks to our new worm farm, no child should have to miss out on the chance to go fishing because we ran out of worms! 😂🎣

The worms are multiplying. The fishing poles are ready. The kids are waiting.

Now we just need the FISH to cooperate! 🪱➡️🎣➡️🐟😂

🛠️ CAMP PENUEL PROJECT UPDATE! 🏕️

Our current project at Camp Penuel is staining all of our small cabins, and we are excited to say that we are almost halfway finished! 🙌

This project is about so much more than making our cabins look beautiful. The stain helps protect the wood from the elements and prepare the cabins for the upcoming winter. It’s another important part of caring for the place God has entrusted to us.

Enjoy the photos and take a look at the difference! 📸 You can really see these cabins coming back to life!

Although Camp Penuel is a summer camp, the work doesn’t stop when summer ends. There are always projects to complete, maintenance to keep up with, repairs to make, and improvements that need to happen while the kids are away.

And none of this happens by accident.

It happens because people give.
It happens because people volunteer.
It happens because people pray.
It happens because people believe in what God is doing here at Camp Penuel. ❤️

We are so incredibly thankful for every single person who gives their time, talents, prayers, and finances to make all of this possible. Every hour matters. Every donation matters. Every prayer matters.

Together, we are taking care of this camp so that generation after generation of children can come here, experience the love of Jesus, make memories, and have their lives changed forever.

One day at a time.
One prayer at a time.
One penny at a time.
Changing lives forever. ❤️

Thank you for being part of the Camp Penuel family! 🏕️

Some of you remember Karla from Sweden who came with her family to work for the camp a few years ago. She is the one who did all of the animal artwork we have on the cabins. God has done a great work for her, here is her testimony!

Doctors told Karla, who had been diagnosed with a large cancerous tumor that had spread to other parts of her body, that they could only offer her palliative care. But Jesus performed a miracle and healed her. Here, she shares her experience. I want to share what Jesus has done for me. In Aug

A Walk Down Memory Lane ❤️🏕️

Camp Penuel has been around for more than 50 years, and in all those decades, there have been countless people who have walked through the gates of this special place.

Some came as campers.
Some came as counselors.
Some came as volunteers.
Some came looking for a place to belong.
And many encountered something far greater than a summer camp—they encountered the love and presence of Jesus. ❤️

One of the most beautiful things about Camp Penuel is watching the generations come full circle.

Children who once ran these trails as campers grew up, came back as counselors, and eventually brought their own children and grandchildren back to experience Camp Penuel for themselves.

For more than five decades, memories have been made here. Friendships have been formed. Lives have been changed. Prayers have been prayed. Tears have been shed. Laughter has filled the air. And countless young people have had a face-to-face encounter with the Lord.

Recently, we came across two old photographs of campers from years gone by, and we thought it would be so much fun to see if we could identify some of the people in these pictures! 📸

Do you recognize anyone?

Maybe you’re in one of these pictures.
Maybe you recognize an old friend.
Maybe it’s a brother, sister, cousin, parent, grandparent—or someone you remember from your own days at Camp Penuel.

👇 TAG THEM IN THE COMMENTS! 👇

And if you recognize yourself, tell us what year you attended Camp Penuel and share a favorite memory!

Let’s see how many Camp Penuel stories we can uncover from these photographs. ❤️

Because Camp Penuel isn’t just a place.

It’s generations of memories.
It’s friendships that lasted a lifetime.
It’s lives changed by Jesus.
It’s a legacy that continues.

Over 50 years of Camp Penuel… and we’re still just getting started. 🏕️❤️

As the summer comes to a close, the Camp Penuel staff would like to say thank you to everyone who made this season possible.

To those who prayed, volunteered, donated, sponsored children, and supported this ministry in any way—thank you. There is no way we could have accomplished what we did this summer without your generosity, sacrifice, and love. Because of you, children were able to experience an unforgettable week of fun, friendship, and the life-changing love of Jesus Christ.

We would also like to give a special thank you to Pastor Larry and Joy. Your dedication to this ministry goes far beyond pastoring a church. You have devoted your lives to creating a place where every child knows they are valued, loved, and never a “throwaway kid”. Your passion for ensuring that every child has the opportunity to experience the love of Christ has impacted countless lives.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your leadership, your sacrifice, and your unwavering commitment to the children and families of Camp Penuel.

We are grateful for each and every one of you and look forward to seeing what God will do in the years to come.
