Attention Harper Lake boaters, we have a loon family with a baby on the lake. PLEASE give them at least 150-200’ space.
“When boating near common loons with a baby, boaters must remember that loon chicks are highly buoyant, cannot dive to escape danger, and are extremely vulnerable to fatal boat strikes. Adult loons will also refuse to dive when they are guarding or carrying a chick on their back, making the entire family a target for oncoming watercraft.”

Yesterday was one of those Harper Lake days that reminds you why this place is special. We hosted my brother’s- Brad & Rhonda’s wedding at our home, and even though it wasn’t planned, people out on their boats & wave runners slowed down, watched, and shared the moment with us.
The sense of community was incredible. It was a beautiful day, full of community, kindness, and that Harper Lake charm we all love. Thank you to everyone who shared the moment with us. ~Merz’s ❤️

Notice the algae blooms on Harper Lake? Do you know the causes?
"Michigan algal blooms, especially toxic blue-green algae, occur when warm, calm water combines with excess phosphorus and nitrogen. These nutrients feed the algae. They enter lakes through farm runoff, lawn fertilizers, and failing septic systems. Invasive zebra and quagga mussels also worsen blooms by eating "good" algae and rejecting toxic ones."
Refrain from using fertilizers and ensure your septic is not leaching.

Hi Harper Lake friends, we are looking for a cleaning person for our cottage on Aqua cove. I have an amazing lady but she just informed me she's moving out of state mid September. Bummer!

We are a year round rental ( but very quiet in the winter / spring months ) very busy in the summer / fall when we can't be there & sometimes the cottage needs to be flipped on the same day.

If you have any recommendations we'd appreciate it. 🧹🧽🧼
