The Iron Area Health Foundation is such an asset to our community. Iron County Cancer Unit patients benefit because of the foundation and everyone involved in the Pink Out. I greatly appreciate their efforts. The Iron County Cancer Unit depends on our community for donations so we can serve Iron County cancer patients. Please come out and show your support for the teams and everyone involved in making this happen. Come out and show your support for breast cancer survivors or those currently dealing with breast cancer. Or come out in memory of those who have lost their lives to the disease. Thank you!
Also, stop in at the Health Fair hosted by Aspirus on Wednesday 10/14/26, 11a.m.-3p.m.at the Windsor Center in Iron River. The Iron Area Health Foundation and the Iron County Cancer Unit will both be represented along with many other community resources. I hope to see you there!

One week from today, Tuesday October 20 at the Forest Park gym the 2nd “Pink Out” volleyball match between West Iron County and Forest Park will take place!! Numerous activities are scheduled to take place during the evening with proceeds being donated to the Iron County Cancer Unit. Between the Junior Varsity and Varsity matches the Iron Area Health Foundation will be making a $2,500 donation to the Iron County Cancer Unit on behalf of both volleyball teams!! Please come out and help support this great cause!!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A friendly reminder, because I'm doing mine today. Get your mammogram: yearly screening or as necessary per your doctor. Do your monthly self breast exam. Reminder, men can also get breast cancer. 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗

I am very saddened to announce that my two very faithful loan closet volunteers are leaving for personal reasons. One was also a board member. Another board member had passed away.
This will mean an upcoming change in the loan closet hours. Hours will be announced or it will have to revert to by appointment only. I ask for your patience.

October is breast cancer awareness month! It reminds us to do monthly self breast exams and to follow through with our mammograms. Men are not exempt from breast cancer! It's a time to remember those lost to the disease, to support those still fighting, and to recognize survivors.
A Pink Out volleyball match was held at the West Iron County school between Forest Park and West Iron on 9/29. The teams and volunteers did a fantastic job raising awareness and raising funds for the Iron County Cancer Unit. A raffle was held and many businesses provided items. (Full list of businesses to follow) A 50/50 was held with the winnings being donated back. Creatively decorated pumpkins were available for a donation. Hair extensions were available. Shirts were for sale. A miracle minute was held with over $600 being collected. Asprirus will donate $500. The Iron Area Health Foundation, Lyle Smithson, will present a $2,500 check to the Iron County Cancer Unit during the October 20th games at Forest Park. Come out and show your support for the teams.
The Iron Area Health Foundation has provided significant grants and donations in our communities in support of health and well-being.
I am beyond grateful for the effort and time put into this fundraiser and for the generosity of our community! Thank you all so very much!
