The IACF is proud to announce the following awarded grants to local non-profits in the Irene community:

Irene Amateur Baseball - Funds to upgrade their scoreboard controller.
Irene Fire Department - Funds to purchase SCBA equipment.
Irene Community Center - Funds to replace carpet, upgrade indoor lighting, and window replacements.

These grants were awarded throughout the year and are a testament of the power of local charitable contributions given to our Community Foundation. Contributions are tax deductible and grow for years to come.

🎓🎓🎓The Irene Area Community Foundation/Sherman and Kimiko Promise Scholarship awarded 14 scholarships to Irene-Wakonda seniors during graduation ceremonies May 16, 2026.

Thirteen seniors, who attended Irene-Wakonda for all four years of high school, were awarded $1,400 scholarships. Those students were: Addison Brockmueller, Bridget Logue, Katelyn Tallman, LaTika Blakey, Natalie Girard, Noah Hansen, Paige O’Daniel, Rylee Nielson, Savannah Hoxeng, Taylor Aune, Alyssa Kirschenman, Gianna Logue, and Jocee Llewelyn. Aiden Mulder, who attended I-W for one year, was awarded $350.

All these students will be eligible to apply for additional scholarships, for up to four years, as long as they maintain adequate grades and advance towards graduation.
