SPOTLIGHT ON...JOE & SUE GIBBONS!!!
-Joe and Susan are a married couple who have performed with Chorus North Shore for almost 20 years!! Susan joined first...and her husband soon followed.
-Joe was a flight instructor at Beverly Airport and once gave our former conductor, Ms. Sunny Pryor a ride in his Cessna aircraft. He also allowed the 15-year-old son of a member to fly from Beverly Airport to Bangor Maine and back-with Joe only handling take-off and landing.
- Susan and Joe have also helped with fundraising. They posed in our 2011 calendar "Chorus North Shore on Broadway!" You can find them in the photo below in the musical "Guys and Dolls". Joe is on the far left looking dapper in a hat while Susan is 3rd from left posing with lady-like white gloves.
Thank you Joe and Susan for your years of singing with us in the tenor section of Chorus North Shore!!

“The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace” COMES TO THE NORTH SHORE

On June 13 and 14, Chorus North Shore will present a powerful choral work written to mark the
new millennium –“The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace”.
This stirring, immersive piece, written by Welsh composer Karl Jenkins debuted in Royal Albert
Hall in London, April 2000, with National chorus and Orchestra accompaniment.
This composition uses religious themes, in addition to 15 th century music, to counterpoint the
extreme loss and guilt that result from the futility of war. Part prayer, part warning, ultimately
delivering a message for those searching for peace.
A video will be shown accompanying the performance – Imagery that some viewers may
find unsettling.
Dolan Performing Arts Center in Ipswich will be the setting for this production – June 13 at 7:00
p.m. and June 14 at 2:00 p.m. to include Presto! Festival Orchestra and soloists.

Preview of our June concert...."The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace" is a powerful anti-war composition by Welsh composer Karl Jenkins, reflecting on the horrors of war and the hope for peace.
"The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace" was commissioned by the Royal Armories Museum to mark the transition into the new millennium and is dedicated to the victims of the Kosovo conflict. The work was first performed in 2000 by the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the National Youth Choir of Great Britain, conducted by Jenkins himself.
