Today's Earth Day marks ten years since countries around the world signed the Paris Agreement, a major promise to work together to limit global warming. As migration policies continue to change quickly across the globe, we invite you to take a moment to think about how our connection to the environment might influence these movements and decisions.

The 2026 International Day of Wellness reminds us that being healthy is not just about the body, but it’s also about our minds as well, and overall well-being. In today’s busy world, taking time to rest, think, and care for ourselves is important, not a luxury. Simple things like taking a quiet moment, spending time with loved ones, or building good daily habits can make a big difference. Wellness grows through small steps each day. Today is a chance to slow down, focus on what matters most, and choose a healthier way of living for ourselves, our communities, and future generations.

For the students of Maryvale Preparatory School, attending CSW70 was an unforgettable experience. Their very first visit to the United Nations. Stepping into a global space of dialogue and diplomacy, they embraced each conference and event with curiosity and courage. They returned home enriched by the ideas they encountered, the voices they heard, and the inspiration they gathered. Their experience not only broadened their understanding of the issues women and girls face but also added a meaningful new chapter to the vibrant story of their school.

The 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70), which concluded today at the United Nations headquarters in New York City, brought together leaders and organizations from around the world to discuss how to make justice fairer and more accessible for women and girls. The CSW70 discussions focused on the need to repeal unfair laws, fix systemic problems, and ensure that everyone is treated equally under the law. One key result was the “Agreed Conclusions,” supported by the majority of the countries. The plan emphasized the need to support survivors, continue the fight against violence against women, and strengthen legal protections. the nIt also, for the first time, clearly recognizes the rights and needs of women in prison. Overall, the meeting demonstrated strong global support for women’s rights while also highlighting challenges that remain to be addressed.
