Today, on International Day of Peace, we reflect on what peace really means and how each of us can help build it. We are especially inspired by our work as Sisters; we work every day to bring peace and hope to our communities through education in all its forms, health care, support for families, protection for women and children, and help for people in difficult situations... Our work reminds us that peace is not just something we wish for, but it is something we create through love, service, and action.

The purpose of the day is the pursuit of peace as a fundamental human right.

The High-Level Political Forum is going on. We now have just four years remaining in the 2015–2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). During the High-Level Political Forum, Member States, businesses, stakeholders, academics, and civil society come together to review progress, share experiences and best practices, identify persistent challenges, and accelerate collective action. With time running short, the 2026 High-Level Political Forum provides a critical opportunity to strengthen partnerships, mobilize resources, and renew political commitment to ensuring that no one is left behind in the effort to achieve the SDGs by 2030.

On World Environment Day, we are reminded that even small actions, such as saving water, using less plastic, and planting trees, can help protect our planet. We must take responsibility for caring for the environment because it provides us with clean air, food, and many resources. When we all make eco friendly choices, we help create a cleaner, greener world for future generations.

Led by UNEP and held annually since 1973, World Environment Day has become one of the world's largest global platforms for environmental awareness and action, reaching millions of people every year across all regions.
