Thank you to Crystal Doering for being our program this week! Crystal told us about the Iowa Falls State Bank 2026 Community Challenge that runs from October 7-21!

This years participants are Calkins Nature Area Animal Enclosure Expansion and the Revival at Assembly Park! Be sure to get out and support the events happening during the challenge period for these two very worthy causes!

A great big thank you to the Iowa Falls CWU Thrift Store for your generous donations to our Holiday Food Basket and Eyeglass Coupon projects! We are so very thankful for your continued support!

In September, CWU contributed to the following:
Food Pantries in Ackley, Alden, AGWSR, Franklin County, Iowa Falls (MICA), La Luz Culturale, Pine Lake, and Radcliffe.
We also contributed to the Food Bank of Iowa.

This organization operates with a circle of helpful caring hands. Donations are given and received. People are able to shop. Profits are shared.

Thank you to Bethany Starkweather, Head of the Arts & Graphic Design Department at Ellsworth Community College, for being our program today! Bethany educated us on art opportunities at ECC which include: Graphic Design AAS, Fine Art AA and Art & Design Club. It was fun to learn about all of the classes offered and art opportunities at the college as well as art related careers post college!

The 29th annual Labor Day Car Show is in the books and we are so thankful for everyone who entered a car and came downtown to check out the event! 🏆🚗

We can’t wait to donate the proceeds from the show back into our local community! Thanks to everyone who had a hand in making this show a success!

Thank you to Tony Neumann, IF-A Superintendent, for being our program today! Tony shared lots of updates in terms of our school district enrollment numbers, budget funding updates and the work that the Unified Elementary Study Committee is currently doing to study the facility needs for our elementary students. He did a great job answering all of our questions. Our district is very fortunate to have his leadership and knowledge!

Thank you to Jodi Harrenstein, Fraud Specialist with Green Belt Bank & Trust, for being our program today! Jodi helped educate us on current scams and fraud to be aware of. Her whole role at GBB&T is to help customers keep their funds safe in this ever changing world of technology. Thank you, Jodi!

Thank you to Wes Wiese, Director of Hardin County Conservation, for being our program yesterday!

Wes gave us an update on the many projects he and his staff have currently completed and are working on, including beautiful new Lodge in Steamboat Rock.

Our county is fortunate to have Wes working so hard to promote and utilize the amazing natural resources we have in our area!

Today we celebrated that we are officially the largest Lions Club in our 9NC District with 70 members strong! 🎉🎉
Randy Winters, Club President, made sure we had a delicious cake to celebrate this milestone, thank you to his wife Dianna for making it!
