At our last meeting on September 22 Blake Reding from the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation spoke to us about the recent purchase and renovations of the former First Baptist Church in Iowa Falls. Much work is being done to remedy some issues. It will be used as a display for its former life as First Baptist Church and to display various postings about the Foundation. Pictured with Blake is Rotarian Pete Bartlett.
Also, Pete Bartlett was presented with Rotarian of the Year Award for his many efforts that he contributes to our local Club and to the community. Pete is an 11 year member of Iowa Falls Rotary Club. Presenting the Award is Janet Lambertsen, Director at I.F. Rotary Club. Good job, Pete! Well deserved!

Iowa Falls Rotary Club had great representation at the Ellsworth College back to school bash on Monday. Abby Zaimes and Kevin Brown represented us well. Always nice to see Diana Thies, Director of Chamber Main Street as she always has a smile and does a fantastic job. Good Old Days had a fantastic display and Dawn and Bryan represented Hy-Vee quite well! There were many fine representatives of different businesses and clubs at the Bash and it was well received by the students, their parents and teachers! Well done, Ellsworth Community College!

Big thank you to Pete Bartlett and Roger Nissly for their hard work along the riverbank by the Vetersns Memorial. I am so surprised to see all the trees that have been taken down and cut up and removed. Good job, Rotarians!

Take a look at the river edge on the west side of town starting around Assembly Park and headed south down around Linear Park. Hard working people are clearing this out. Thanks to Rotarian Pete Bartlett, Lions Club members Bernie Koehrsen and Michael Krogh as well as rugby players. The goal is to be able to enjoy a river view without all the overgrowth. Thank you!
