We attended DM 32 last night - and it did not disappoint. The students raised $1,695,270.32

My mind is blown 🤯. These are college students who have chosen, for the past year, to spend their time fundraising and putting tons of hours into this event. And it’s all For The Kids (FTk) ❤️

While it’s a fun event, it is also extremely emotional - which is why we haven’t been since 2019. Cancer has stolen so many kids from us and sometimes, my heart just can’t take it. I’m thankful Brooklyn, Brantley’s big sister really wanted to go this year. Seeing 12 kiddos graduate was amazing. They are 5 years cancer free and considered “cured”. We know that life will continue to be hard for them but greatful to see them walk across that stage.

They take a moment to remember all of the kiddos who are Dancing in our Hearts (DIH) and add each one of them to a quilt that is hung in the hall for everyone to see.

Thank you University of Iowa Dance Marathon for all you do FTK ❤️💛

Thinking today about pediatric cancer families —
those who just heard the words no parent is ever prepared to hear,
those in the middle of treatment, living life scan to scan and day to day,
and those whose beloved child was taken far too soon.
