Mental Wellness starts with Friendship. Ken Fate joins The Situation Room to talk about COMPEER, an organization whose mission is to reduce the loneliness and isolation of adults receiving mental health treatment by developing structured friendships with trained community volunteers. Studies in the UK and US have shown that Compeer's work has a measurable positive effect on those receiving mental health treatment. It's also a positive experience for the volunteers. Compeer Inc. envisions a day when all communities embrace individuals and their families living with mental health challenges.
