📸👓 A Simple Screening Made a Big Difference

Many children with vision problems don't realize they aren't seeing clearly, and their parents may not notice any signs either. That's why early vision screening is so important.

After being screened through Iowa KidSight and receiving follow-up care, this young student now has the clear vision he needs to succeed in school and everyday activities. His story is a powerful reminder that detecting vision concerns early can have a lasting impact on a child's learning, confidence, and quality of life.

We are grateful to our Lions Club volunteers, schools, healthcare providers, and families who help make these life-changing outcomes possible.

It is with great sadness that we report the death of Past International Director Delmar "Del" Brown, who died in his home on May 20, 2026. Del served a 2-year term as international director of Lions Clubs International from 2002-2004. He was district governor of District 9X9 and was council chair of Multiple District 9 from 1997-1998. He was the recipient of the GE Bud Klise Service Award in 1999.

Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at The Congregational United Church of Christ (30 N. Clinton Street) in Iowa City. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m.
