JUNE CHALLENGE.......
Sheet sets! Twin, Full and Queen size. New or gently used. If they are not new, please put them inside a pillow case or plastic bag and stick a pice of paper inside or masking tape on the outside that indicates the size.
Do you have three times as many sheets as beds in your house? Have you been eyeing those crisp new sheets at Costco on sale, but the ones on your bed are perfectly fine?? Indulge in those new sheets without the guilt by donating your good sheets to One Box Challenge. We know where they can be used! πŸ₯°

We are half way through May. I appreciate all those who have already risen to the challenge! However, we are still looking to increase our snack stash by a significant amount. Lots of kids in our community that we want to serve and those growing little bodies are hungry. What is keeping you from participating this month? How can we make it easier for you to be a part of the solution? Split a pack from Costco? Stop by Ollie's for some close out deals? Can you spare something from your pantry? If you are reading this, please take a moment to put SNACKS on your grocery list for the upcoming week. Just ONE BOX is all it takes to join us in this challenge. Pictured below is what we have collect thus far. THANK YOU!

Happy May!!!! Here we go with another challenge. Are you ready?
Snacks for kids........🍎🍐πŸ₯¨πŸͺπŸ₯«
In about a month, the kids will be out of school. In about a month access to a reliable source of food will close for the summer. For many kids summer brings time for relaxation and adventure. For some kids summer brings uncertainty and hunger.
Let's see what we can do about that! This month, please add an extra box of a kid friendly food to your shopping cart. Think things like granola bars, applesauce packs, crackers, fruit cups, just add water Mac & Cheese cups, individual cereal cups, etc. If you are one of my regular Porch Pick Ups, please consider fresh fruit like apples, pears and easy peel oranges and items like cheese sticks. Fruit and cheese will be delivered same day to the local organizations working with children. Looking forward to another impactful month. We got this!!

I'd like to thank Pat Moore, but I can't find her on Facebook or email. If you know Pat, please tell her how much we appreciate her! Also, shout out to J. Hollis for making the amazon delivery driver and my husband think I have a shopping addiction. 😜🀣
A big thank you to Mrs. Mitros too for so consistently rising to the challenge even when life throws extra challenges her way! And much appreciation to Dawn for dropping off twice this month. She knows a good sale when she sees one! I am so very grateful for all of you!!! I hope you all feel the love and know that there are good people out in the world and we are so fortunate to have many of them locally!! Pictured is Sunny waiting for the next delivery/drop off πŸ₯°

Porch Pick Up is this Tuesday. πŸš™ If you want on the list, please DM or email by 4 PM tomorrow (Monday). Easy peasy lemon squeezey! πŸ‹ Don't forget, also collecting kitchen and linen items you may have found while spring cleaning this month. Give those unused pans, other kitchen items, and those sheets and towels hiding in the back of your closet a new home by putting them out on your porch this Tuesday or dropping off at our location. πŸ₯°

I did a thing today. I tested the limits of my deodorant and unlocked a new level of anxiety, but I survived! I hope this will encourage many more community members to RISE to the CHALLENGE with us each month. Catherine Blades KCRG-TV9 and Everyday Iowa was super kind and encouraging. I appreciate the opportunity to help spread the word!

We have a great start for our April challenge, but we can ALWAYS use more. Please consider splitting a big pack of trash bags from Costco or a two pack of foil with One Box this month. These small items make such a difference in a home. We will also take your plastic store shopping bags if they are clean, dry and without holes. Have you donated yet this month? If not, why not? How can we help you help others? It doesn't have to be a lot, just ONE BOX can make all the difference.

Don't forget this is also SPRING CLEANING month. One Box will take your gently used linens, kitchen wares, and miscellaneous. For example, while contemplating where I would squeeze in my storage room if there was a tornado this week, I found a large suitcase I have not used in 20 years. It is perfect condition and by donating it I won't need to lie underneath it in the event of a tornado! Suitcases, backpacks, purses, duffle bags all seem to accumulate over time in my house and instead of taking up valuable space they can fulfill their intended purpose in the home of another. Suitcases are not just for vacations. Many need suitcases because they don't have a stable residence or permanent places to store their clothes. Pictured below is a cautionary tale.......
