It’s a bittersweet moment at the Iowa Hillel House. 🖤💛

After nearly three years with our community, Alyssa, our Engagement & Education Manager, is heading to Des Moines to begin an exciting new chapter as the Museum Learning & Engagement Coordinator at the Des Moines Art Center!

Alyssa joined us shortly after graduating from Bradley University and has made our community and organization better simply by being part of it. She’s taught creative Jewish arts and learning programs, supported our student leaders, strengthened our interfaith work, brought fun new energy to Shabbat, and helped us think more intentionally about student engagement and measuring success.

But just as importantly, if not more, she has been someone our students can count on, whether they need to talk through a problem, brainstorm an idea, learn something new, or just hang out. And if you’ve spent much time with her, you know there’s always a delightful piece of knowledge waiting to be dropped into the conversation.

Please join us in thanking Alyssa for everything she has brought to the Hillel House and wishing her and her fiancé, Charlie, all the best in this next chapter. We’re so happy for you two and we’ll miss you both so much!
Also, her last day is Thursday, October 1st— please come visit our building to say goodbye 🫶🏻

Alyssa, thank you for the creativity, thoughtfulness, kindness, and fun you’ve brought to our community. You’ll always have a home at the Iowa Hillel House.
