ICVZ Days to Remember:

Every Monday, 11am-2pm: open studio hours
Oct 15, 6pm: open studio world**
Oct. 22, 6-8pm: Episode 2* submissions due and “first view”
Nov. 15 & 16, 6-8pm: Episode 2 premiere screening
Jan. 21, 6-8pm: Episode 3 submissions due and “first view”
Jan. 31 & Feb. 1, 6-8pm - Episode 3 premiere screening

*Episode 2’s theme is “style,” episode three’s theme is “everything is connected.” Themes may be interpreted in any way or not at all.

**Open Studio World is a day where we invite ICVZ folks alongside actors and other community members to come together in the studio and shoot simultaneously—experimental shoots, improv, streaming, etc.

“First view” = On submission days, members of ICVZ will watch submitted videos and make note on content & order of appearance in the coming episode.

One week left to apply: Open Call for Artist-in-Residence! Open Air Media Festival 2024

The 5th annual Open Air Media Festival invites proposals for our inaugural artist-in-residence program. The residency is designed to host a media artist for two weeks to create a site-specific project for the festival and facilitate a community workshop related to their project at Public Space One’s Media Arts Co-op. The residency aims to connect the visiting artist with the Iowa City arts community and expand the national audience of Open Air Media Festival.
We seek an artist-in-residence who presents artistic innovation in their work, utilizes new media/emerging technologies in their projects, provides accessible pedagogy for the workshop, and adapts their work with the event location in mind.

Deadline approaching! November 15, 2023
Notification of acceptance: December 1, 2023
