It's getting cold out there! We are now accepting donations of winter items: coats (all sizes), winter boots (all sizes), hats and gloves, and handwarmers.

We believe every child in our community deserves to stay warm this winter.

As you're preparing for the fall and winter months, we hope you'll consider donating any gently-used items your family doesn't need anymore at one of the following locations. We'll make sure it gets to a family in need.

• Iowa City Police Department, 410 E. Washington St.
• Iowa City Public Library, 123 S. Linn St.
• Robert A. Lee Recreation Center, 220 S. Gilbert St.
• Mercer Park Aquatic Center, 2701 Bradford Drive
• Iowa City Fire Station 2, 301 Emerald St.
• Iowa City Fire Station 4, 2008 N. Dubuque Road

We'll be accepting donations at these locations until Friday, Oct. 10.
