Come enjoy a fun filled day sponsored by IANAPNAP. This event is for kids of all ages to meet and engage with safety professionals and first responders. The Event is April 26th from 12pm-3pm at Centennial Park in North Liberty, IA. We will have police departments, fire stations, DNR, and medical professionals present. There will be our organization (Iowa Chapter of the National Pediatric Nurse Practitioners) and undergraduate and graduate nursing students from the University of Iowa present. We would like kids from the community to be able to go around and talk with each group of people about something safety related (fire safety, car seat safety, bicycles, life jackets, helmets, etc.). There will be some fun treats and prizes as well. Bring your families for this fun spring event!

This award is to assist graduate nursing students with an interest in pediatric health care issues in furthering their professional education. The award will be granted to a student to attend NAPNAP’s 47th National Conference on Pediatric Health Care on Wednesday, March 18 – Saturday, March 21, 2026 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

It’s Feature Friday! Our first featured Iowa NAPNAP member is our very own Chapter President, Samm Lee. Dr. Lee is an assistant professor of instruction at the University of Iowa College of Nursing in the acute care pediatric nurse practitioner program. She also practices as an acute care PNP specializing in pediatric pulmonary care. With 16 years of experience, Lee has focused her practice in pediatric acute and critical care settings, bringing a wealth of expertise to both her academic and clinical roles. Thank you for all you do for our organization, Dr. Lee!

We’re thrilled to be collaborating with Operation Santa this year - help us bring holiday cheer to families across the Hawkeye State! Our chapter will be collecting donations at our Annual Conference, so we invite you to contribute if you are able!

Community support is what powers Operation Santa. Here’s how you can help:

Since 2023 Foster SQUAD and Operation Santa have brought holiday cheer to over 465 children and 240 families. In 2024, thanks to the support of our incredible community and partners, more than 2,800 children across Iowa experienced a joyful and inclusive Christmas. Now, in 2025, they are reaching even further—uniting communities, volunteers, and organizations across the state to support even more children in foster and kinship care.
