❤️Your Voice. 🗳️Your Vote. 🤍Your Rights! 💙

Last Friday, MYEP welcomed people with disabilities, advocates, elected officials, families, our staff and community members for a lively discussion about voting rights, accessibility, and civic participation.

From thoughtful questions to meaningful conversations, we didn't just talk about civic engagement, we put it into action!

✅Several attendees registered to vote.
✅Others requested their voter PINs through the County Auditor's Office.
✅Participants learned about absentee voting, accessible voting options, and available accommodations.
✅Everyone had the opportunity to ask questions, share experiences, and learn more about the voting process.

At MYEP, we believe community inclusion means everyone has the opportunity to participate, make informed choices, and have their voice heard. This event brought our values of engagement and inclusion to life by connecting people with information, resources, and opportunities to participate fully in community life.

A special thank you to Mandi Re*****on, Johnson County Supervisor; Ed Esbeck, Self-Advocacy Coordinator with the UI Center for Disabilities & Development; Kathy Clark of the Johnson County League of Women Voters; and Katie Lammers, MYEP board member for leading the conversation, welcoming all ideas and perspectives, and helping participants learn about voting rights, accessibility, available resources, and ways to become involved in the democratic process.

Every voice deserves to be heard, and every vote counts.

Early voting is already underway, and Election Day is November 3.

Johnson County voters can find election information, polling locations, sample ballots, and voting resources at the Johnson County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections website: https://johnsoncountyiowa.gov/november-3-2026-general-election
