NSA Iowa City If you stutter, you are not alone. We welcome stutterers and allies to join our support group.

With more than three million Americans sharing the common experience of stuttering, the National Stuttering Association (NSA) plays a vital role in letting people who stutter know that they are not alone. As the world's largest self-help group for people who stutter, the NSA provides support and information to the stuttering community through a variety of programs and services. This page represents the Iowa City chapter of the NSA -- providing support to stutterers and allies in eastern Iowa.

Please consider sharing your experiences with us through research! In this project, we are continuing our work in the trauma-informed sphere by developing a new tool that clinicians and researchers can use to understand the lasting social-emotional effects of stuttering.

It takes a village to move our field forward, and we're grateful for the NSA's support in spreading the word about this project.

How can researchers better understand the lasting social-emotional effects some people experience because of stuttering? Researchers at the Iowa Stuttering Lab are inviting adults who stutter to participate in a study about their lived experiences!

Their goal is to develop a new tool that can deepen understanding and support trauma-informed practices within the stuttering community. You may be eligible if you identify as a person who stutters, are at least 18 years old, live in the US or Canada, and use English as your primary language.

Participation includes a brief eligibility screener followed by a 30-minute online survey for those who qualify. Raffle compensation is provided to eligible participants who complete the survey.
