One of the great things about 4-H is seeing a project come full circle and the impact that it can make. 🍀

Kinsley Yoder exhibited a beautiful quilt at the Iowa State Fair and received a Judge’s Choice Award! But this wasn't just an ordinary quilt. Kinsley received an unbelievable surprise when Nash, the star of her quilt, visited her at the 4-H Exhibit Building. Since Nash lives in Ankeny, he was able to make the trip with his mom, Mollie, and his grandmother to see Kinsley and her special quilt.

💚 Baby Nash is formally recognized as the world’s most premature surviving baby, having been born at just 21 weeks old. Nash spent 189 days at the University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children's Hospital, but because of NICU rules and regulations, this was actually Kinsley’s first time meeting Nash in person. And you would never have known! The two quickly bonded and became the sweetest little buddies. It was such a special moment to see the story behind Kinsley’s quilt come together in person.

Kinsley also spent the afternoon cheering on her fellow Cosgrove Hustlers clubmate and friend, Kyndall Burns, as she competed at the Iowa Governor's Charity Steer Show!

One of the most special parts of the Governor’s Steer Show is knowing that the money raised through the event goes back to support the Ronald McDonald House, which provides a home away from home for families like Nash’s while their children receive care.

What a memorable day filled with friendship, 4-H accomplishments, and a whole lot of heart: the perfect reminder of what the 4-H experience is all about!

Way to go, Kinsley!

The Iowa State Fair might be over, but we still have things to celebrate!

Congratulations to Gwen Wunderlich for receiving an Excellence on her Extemporaneous Speaking speech! 🎉

What is Extemporaneous Speaking? 🗣️
Extemporaneous Speaking is a 4-H communication event for senior members (9th–12th graders). Members draw three topics related to 4-H, select one, and then have 30 minutes to prepare and write their speech. Members then present their thoughts and ideas in a 4–6 minute speech. This event challenges 4-H’ers to think quickly, organize their ideas, communicate clearly, and confidently share their knowledge and perspective.

Congratulations, Gwen!
