Are you headed to an Iowa State Football game this fall? Look for Ames Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 625 out and about raising money for Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Great job Local 625!!!

Aiden Flora wasn't the only one scoring yesterday! Local 625 members hit the tailgate lots before the game interacting and entertaining Cyclone fans and managed to make a little money for the MDA along the way! $972 added to the pot bringing our yearly total to $17,191!

Thanks to our local community and we'll see you all in two weeks for Bowling Green!

Our brothers and sisters in Des Moines are spending the week out at the Iowa State Fair protecting the grounds with medical services and fire protection.

Wrapping up the 2026 International Association of Fire Fighters Convention with the President’s reception at Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX.

Today is “National Vinyl Record Day.”
It takes us back to that short-lived time earlier this year when our Iowa Professional Fire Fighters Association President and Secretary made that diss record aimed at the Nebraska Professional Fire Fighters Association.

Things were real tense for about an hour as the vinyl record was released until everyone listened to it and realized these two aren’t very good rappers.😬

Anyway, we don’t have any actual beef with our brothers and sisters in Nebraska, but we really can’t wait until IAFF 2nd District when they have to pay up their corn bet in front of everyone! 
Who else can’t wait?? 🙋‍♂️

Several members from departments across the state of Iowa are spending the week at the International Association of Fire Fighters ‘26 Convention. If you see any of our members this week at convention, stop and say hi!

Departments form their own locals, which fall under the Iowa Professional Fire Fighters, which are part of the four states in the IAFF 2nd District, which then fall under the International Association of Firefighters.

The IAFF represents firefighter unions across all of North America  and does a great job of representing us all while letting us hold our individual brands and identities. Happy to be this week!
