The VFW Post and Auxiliary will continue to support the efforts to restore this historic landmark.

A group of veterans has launched a fundraising campaign to preserve an F-86 Sabre jet that has stood outside the Iowa City Municipal Airport since 1972.

The May "Day of Service" is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, May 8-9. Feel free to stop by and lend a hand.

Friday May 8. From 8-4, we will be replacing the floor of the walk in cooler, and cleaning the parking lot to re-paint parking stripes for both the post and Carlos' restaurant up front. We also plan to do some inventory management, as we have a new refrigerator to help with better organization.

Saturday May 9. From 8-4, we will continue working on the parking lot striping as well as post clean up. This includes cleaning up inside, the outdoor patio, the shed, and the trash along highway 6.

We look forward to seeing all who can come support the efforts!

Tomorrow is the final day! We aren't encouraging poor decisions, but we also don't want to move so many heavy kegs.... 😅🤣
