CALL FOR AUDITIONS AND PRODUCTION TEAM APPLICATIONS

What Now is a devised theatre project which will be pioneering a new way to blend improv and traditional theatrical techniques in order to create a new work that captures the intentionality of theatre and the spontaneity of improv in a single performance. All artists involved, from the cast to the production team, will be in the rehearsal room from the very beginning. Through improvisation, collaboration, and refinement, artists will layer in their ideas for how to advance the work, immediately as they come up, until there is a new unique work of experimental theatre.

The topics, themes, plots, aesthetics, characters, and designs will all come out of this generative process. The hope being to give artists a sense of artistic freedom and agency beyond what improv or theatre can offer on their own. Regardless of if this one production achieves that for everyone, it will still be a unique opportunity for all artists involved to play with process and refine their own crafts, all while getting to tell a story that reflects what they want to say in this moment in time.

Submissions close Oct 16th, or when we have a full cast and production team.

All artists will be paid an honorarium based on a percentage of ticket sales after the closing of performances.
