On Memorial Day, the American flag is raised to half-staff from sunrise until noon to honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. At noon, the flag is raised to full-staff as a symbol that their sacrifice was not in vain and that the living carry forward their legacy with purpose, remembrance, and gratitude.

Pictured here are VFW Post 3949 Commander William and Quartermaster Tony carrying on this meaningful tradition — a quiet but powerful reminder of the respect owed to those who never made it home.

Today, we remember the fallen and honor the freedoms they defended. 🇺🇸

Our VFW Auxiliary came together and created 14 lap blankets for veterans in local nursing homes. Small acts, big impact. This is what community looks like. ❤️
