This Saturday’s Ione Farmers and Artisan Market boasts fruit, vegetables, the ongoing pumpkin raffle, jams, honey, tie-dye clothing, knives, blades, knives, tea towels, bread, cookies, shopping totes, reading pillows, aprons, walking sticks, themed t-shirts, spider plants, information on library services (physical and online), programs, and upcoming consortium changes, plus even a local author with original, written works. The Market is every Saturday through October from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM next to Hwy 31 Grind, our awesome host, on Main Street in Ione, Washington.

Not the best picture ever but if you're not here at the Slora Boat Racing in Ione, W, then YOU ARE MISSING OUT! These are some tight races! Still going strong this Sunday afternoon at least until 4pm if not a touch longer today.
Food vendors are still open as are the craft vendors. And the breeze off the river makes this summer day perfect!

Slight snag this morning at the Slora Boat Racing in Ione, WA, because what would an event be without a snag?! The Bubba's Brew Crew broke down on their way to us but they've got the problem fixed and are ON THEIR WAY! Way to make things happen anyway! See you in about an hour (at 8am) for your morning coffee, tea, Red Bull, or Lotus -- hot or iced. And they have breakfast bagels, cinnamon rolls, and muffins! Safe travels, Bubba's Brew Crew!

YAY! 💥 Two more sleeps and the SLORA Boat Races start in Ione, WA! Saturday & Sunday, Aug 9 & 10 🗓️

Espresso drinks and other hot drinks plus breakfast goodies like breakfast bagels, cinnamon rolls, and muffins will be ready starting at 7am. The rest of the vendors will be all set up by 8am. Read to the end to find out all the great stuff and food for sale! Surprise! They'll also be three gift basket raffles! Just $2/ticket!

The boat racers will be testing their equipment and getting ready for the races from about 8am until 11am. And then the races start going until about 5pm or 6pm -- depending on if there are equipment failures! 5 racing classes!

1. Y80 class. Yamato brand racing motor from Japan restricted with a carburetor restrictor plate. High 50's to low 60's mph.

2. Y102 hydro. Unrestricted Yamato racing motor, mid to high 60's mph.

3. D mod hydro. Modified antique Mercury fishing motor. In the 70's mph

4. Formula E Hydro. Modified 3 cylinder Evinrude fishing motor. High 80's- low 90's mph
5. Novice hydro. 9 years old to 13 years old age group. 50's mph 🙋‍♂️

Okay, as promised, here is a list of just some of what you can find this weekend in Ione Park along the gorgeous Pend Oreille River!

Products: Jams, baked treats, cake cookies (no comma missing there!), breads, tye-dye tshirts, dresses, hoodies, kids clothes, and even baby clothes, woodcrafts, knives, blades, themed tshirts, soaps, lotion, lotion bars, bug spray, beard oil, pain salve, lip balms, quilts, tea towels, shopping totes, reading pillows, framed local and world photography, and a local author with his books for grownups and books for children (ask him to sign yours!).

Food: 13 different flavors of Elephant Ears, Indian tacos, nacho grande, corn dogs, deep fried pickles, deep fried mushrooms, deep fried mushrooms, deep fried mozzarella sticks, cotton candy, snowcones, gourmet kettle corn in a variety of flavors, assorted snacks, shaved ice, huckleberry lemonade, espresso, Red Bull, Lotus, tea, Lemonade, italian sodas, coke and pepsi products, bottled water, and a variety of gatorades.

AND Pend Oreille County Fire District 2, Pend Oreille County Search & Rescue, and Pend Oreille County Sheriff's Office will all be there with free handouts!

What's in the raffles? Local coffee, several desserts, jams, honey, book signed by the local author, bookmark, magnet, embroidered tea towels, handcrafted vanilla soap, breads, macrame plant hanger with plant, woodcraft, crocheted scrubbies, folding knives (one with a corkscrew!), a custom candle, and beautiful hand-hewn wooden bowl. Proceeds help pay for next year. Remember, just $2/ticket!
