Our Dad, Kevin Dunn, wrote: “So.. Merry Xmas to all three of you. And thanks.. every year when I look back, I am reminded that about 99% of what I am proud of in my life is wrapped up in you three.”
So you can imagine the heartache we felt when our Dad passed away in December of 2017. In those first few hours, days, months and years of processing the loss of him physically I remember wondering “Where does his love for us go now?” And…”What on earth am I to do with all of the LOVE I have for him?” And tonight, as I sit here, I am more confident than ever that I am not meant to carry our love alone any longer. I must share it. My sister. My brother. We must share it. You see, it is just as he wrote, our Dad’s love is wrapped up tight in us three kids.
It is our hope that we can share our families unique warmth in ways that honor our Dad and good people who need a little extra light to guide their way in life.
We are making connections within our community and Spokane, the two places our Dad spent much of his time. We celebrated our Dad’s 58th Birthday in Heaven in August. This winter season we are working with Jewel’s Helping Hands in Spokane. This is a community based organization that focuses on providing basic needs for the homeless. Our hope is to collect at least 58 items (new/gently used) that might include: backpacks, blankets, sleeping bags, thick socks, hand warmers, foot warmers, coats, gloves, warm clothing, hats, scarves, fast food gifts cards, notes with words of encouragement etc.
Our DROP OFF location is @ 270 Bockman Rd (Big Red Shop Home). We will gather and store your gracious donations safely inside our garage until delivery. We will be accepting donations until DECEMBER 4th.
So there we have it. Today Wrapped Up in You Three is born. I kind of think this may have been my Dad’s birthday wish come true in heaven. We are all still very much connected. Happy, Happy Birthday WUIYT!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Namaste,
The Dunn Kids,
Max, Samie & Sarah
