Good morning my friends...what a day we are living in! How grateful I am to know the One who is never nervous nor fearful! And more than that, to know in my knower, He knows me...and you.
While we rest in Him, there are those who do not know this rest. Let us be a voice of hope, of faith and of wisdom in this hour. We are all claiming Psalm 91. It, of course, is a favorite of mine. As I read it through, it appears to me that these promises are sure for us who know Him, who are acquainted with who He is and put our trust in Him.
Psalm 9:10 says that when we know Him by His name, we put our trust in Him. His name is His character...and no matter what it looks like, He is faithful. This is not presumptive faith, nor is it foolish. It is the solid rock we stand on, who He is and His utter faithfulness.
Do we always understand? No. Years back the Lord spoke to me in a very difficult moment that He never requires His children to do what they cannot. We cannot always understand, but we can always trust. It is a choice and often requires a battle. We battle in faith, we then come to rest, which in my mind is trust.
So, as it seems we have all had the “pause” button hit in our lives, let’s use it to reset, reevaluate, refresh and find rest in the knowledge that He is the God of Peace and indeed, is our peace.
As we are practicing “distancing,” we can still reach out to one another through mail, email, FB and other measures. Let us use this time as an outreach to those who don’t know the peace that only comes through our Lord Jesus Christ. We can pray for one another, reach out with encouragement and be the voice of peace for the One who is our peace.
I am going to post a few pictures from our trip to Kenya earlier in the year. I hope they make you smile. We were on our way home when we began to hear of the seriousness of this outbreak, then still primarily in China. The world has changed so rapidly for so many since that time. One truly never knows what a day may bring. Who could have imagined where we are now? But, my friends, it is well with my soul...and I pray it is with yours.
