We were founded in February 1965 by a small group of devoted individuals, who believed that "the mission of ICT is to foster, encourage, coordinate, establish, and publish the performance and exhibition of the creative arts in Allen County, Kansas and the surrounding area, and to encourage, develop, strengthen and enrich the cultural life of the Allen County area." In pursuit of that end, we hope
not only to provide easy access to our organization, but to help foster an interest in the theatrical arts. Whether you are an aspiring actor, musician, director, designer, technician, carpenter, seamstress, painter, audience member, or patron – we want you! We don't have membership cards or hats. We have no dues or requirements for membership other than a desire to work with good people to enrich our community (and have some fun along the way). It will cost you some time, energy, and creativity, but the rewards are priceless. Our rehearsal and meeting space is in the Warehouse Theatre, where we presented our first dinner theater production in 1991. Space is limited, but it provides for a very intimate performance experience. We can accommodate 74 for dinner and/or dessert shows or 100 in row seating. With restricted off stage production space it provides an exciting challenge for designers and directors. For larger productions, we have the wonderful advantage of the Thomas H. Bowlus Fine Arts Center half a block away. That venue provides us with an 700 seat house, and a full 40' proscenium with fly loft. We usually hold one show at the Bowlus each year with other shows held at the Warehouse Theatre.
