On 8/31/2026, we were called to assist Moran Marmaton-Osage Volunteer Fire Department with a grass fire. The fire was reported to have started when the land owner was cutting the pasture to bale it for hay. While cutting, a spark created a fire that travelled rapidly. The current weather conditions and dryness of vegetation promoted fire growth and difficulty of extinguishment. 5 departments and 6 hours later, the fire was extinguished except for the multiple hay bales that remain burning. The weather conditions prompted Allen County Emergency Management to impose a burn ban in Allen County.
