Citrus Abuse Shelter Association (CASA) is a non-profit organization that assists survivors of domestic violence. Our mission is to help victims and survivors of domestic violence by providing shelter, safety, intervention, and education, and to educate the community for social change. Our goal is to break the cycle of domestic violence through the support and education of healthy relationships. CASA serves Citrus County with a main office in Inverness and a shelter within the county. We can be contacted 24 hours a day at 352-344-8111. Our outreach office is open M-F 9am-5pm.

As the seasons change around here we might not notice that much of a difference, but many of us love those days when the wind gets crisp and the air gets a chill and we know the holidays are right around the corner!

Which end-of-the-year holiday do you most look forward to? Are you an autumnal Harvest/Halloween/Thanksgiving fan, or more looking forward to the winter holidays and the new year?

No matter what, holidays tend to coincide with spikes in domestic violence for lots of reasons.

Now is the time to think about preventative measures, and reaching out for support before it is too late.

If you want to help support our work, it is the perfect time to consider joining our Circle of Hope, heading to a Fork If Forward event, or donating holiday items for our safe house!

We'll see you around the community!

When we say this is more than a job, when we say that we actually care, when we say that our doors are open for you, when we say we're here for our community, when we say you can call us any time, when we say we're here for you - we mean it.

Every one of our advocates comes to work in the morning driven by a caring passion to support survivors of domestic violence in our community, and to end domestic violence here in Citrus County.

It is a big goal, huge some might say. But we're here for it, and we know we can only do it day by day, one step at a time, with the support of our community.

Thank you to everyone who has joined our Circle of Hope, who has participated in our Fork It Forward events and other community fundraising events, who has sponsored our events, who has donated to our safe house, who has volunteered with us throughout the year, and who came to our Step Up For Survivors event today!

Be sure to follow us and check out more information on our page and our website for how you can support our work.

And if you or someone you know is in need of our support, please reach out to us. We are here for you!

At the end of the day, it takes extreme dedication and hard work to keep all the moving parts of our work and community service organized and moving forward.

Our team makes it all happen with our community support, and making sure everything happens is our incredible CEO!

This Boss's Day we wanted to give a big shout out to Rane Herzek for being the best boss!
